About — The artist
Medina Azahara is a Spanish rock band, recognised as one of the most emblematic groups of the so-called Andalusian rock movement.
The band was formed in 1979 in Córdoba, Andalusia, by Manuel Martínez (vocals), Pablo Rabadán (keyboards), Manuel S. Molina (bass), José A. Molina (drums) and Miguel Galán (guitar).
They were launched to the wider public by Rafael Martín Parraga, at the September fair in Córdoba.
The name comes from the caliphal city near Córdoba.
The group reportedly sold around two million records up to 2003.
