Azymuth / JZ:RF Series

Azymuth and the JZ:RF Series perform on the stage at Monk in Rome for an evening dedicated to world music.

The Brazilian group Azymuth have been active for decades and represent a fundamental benchmark for the fusion of jazz, funk and samba, a genre often defined as samba doido. Originally founded by José Roberto Bertrami, Alex Malheiros and Ivan Conti, the lineup has released numerous records that have marked the history of South American instrumental music, combining the Carioca tradition with electric keyboards and contemporary production techniques.

On the stage at Monk, the Rome venue dedicated to concerts and live performances, the musical proposal is part of the programme for the JZ:RF Series, offering the audience a listening experience based on sound research and improvisation. The theatre hall hosts this event within a series of events designed for those who follow the paths of global music and contemporary jazz.
