City of the Sun

City of the Sun at Rote Sonne

City of the Sun may well call Brooklyn, New York, home, but their genre-defying music rolls like a tide across borders. They create a mosaic that draws on an international spectrum of sounds and cultures. Elements of indie rock, Latin folk, blues and world music contain countless stories and memories, conjuring up entire landscapes before the mind's eye.

City of the Sun create music that feels both intimate and cinematic – like a film you can literally step into. From their debut album *To The Sun and All the Cities in Between* (2016) through their self-titled work of 2020 to *Segunda Alma* (2022), the band have built a loyal worldwide following. As their profile grew, City of the Sun toured alongside Peter Bjorn and John and Thievery Corporation; their songs touched fans on a deep, universal level. Their lush, emotionally gripping compositions evoke echoes of desert winds, big-city nights, Mediterranean summers and the quiet radiance of loss and transformation. It is little wonder, then, that audiences – from London and Paris to Athens and beyond – welcome them with sold-out concert halls, listening in awe as though every note were a sung word.
