Museum für Erotische Kunst Hamburg

The Museum für Erotische Kunst in Hamburg combines older erotic art with digital works. The route leads from analogue works into virtual spaces, which are entered with VR headsets.

The exhibition spans an arc from the erotic past of art to works created in digital space. Visitors move through stations that explore the cultural-historical development of eroticism and also take up the debate around cancel culture.

In the digital section, the focus is on virtual spaces designed by digital designers together with artists and photographers. The 360-degree environments are designed for VR headsets. The stations include a landscape with motifs of beautiful bodies, as well as a roller coaster along which numerous erotic photographs can be seen, and rooms of a multiverse, where avatars can also be encountered.

The exhibition is aimed at visitors who are interested in eroticism as a theme in art and are open to digital forms. The route alternates between the analogue and digital worlds, so that historical viewing and virtual experience complement one another.
