Overview
SHRED FEST brings together three defining formations of technical death metal on one stage in Berlin.
Obscura, founded in Munich in 2002, has been shaping German technical death metal for years and released their debut album Retribution via Relapse Records in 2006. The band's name refers to the Gorguts album of the same name. The Dutch band Pestilence, established in Enschede in 1986, is among the pioneers of the genre and presented their first album Malleus Maleficarum on Roadrunner Records in 1988. The line-up is completed by Cryptic Shift, making this evening a multi-layered repertoire from various decades of extreme metal.
Audiences at the Lido can look forward to a concentrated concert evening for fans of sophisticated and guitar-driven heavier sounds. The venue provides the setting for this gathering of the three bands in Berlin.
