Marking the 75th anniversary of German-Italian relations, this evening invites audiences to a profound musical reflection on memory, reconciliation and friendship. With the founding of the Federal Republic in 1949 and the resumption of diplomatic relations in 1951, a path of understanding began that is now one of Europe's main pillars. The concert recalls our shared responsibility never to forget the crimes of National Socialism and fascism - while also demonstrating the peace-building power of culture. Pieces created during that dark era that are all too rarely heard today will be performed.
