About — The artist
JakoJako is the stage name of Sibel Jacqueline Koçer, a German-Turkish DJ, composer and electronic music producer.
Based in Berlin, she is a resident at the Berghain club and releases music on several labels, including Leisure System, Beatport, MUTE Records and its techno subsidiary NovaMute. She has contributed to compilations on BPitch Control, Tresor and Figure, and is known as a modular synthesizer artist (notably DIY) with a broad musical range, spanning ambient to techno.
With Rødhåd, she released In Vere in 2022; Metamorphose is her debut album, released on the Bigamo label. In April 2025, NovaMute released her second album, Tết 41, inspired by Vietnam and produced there, named album of the week by Der Spiegel. She has also collaborated with Detect Ensemble and Mareena on Atlas der Gedanken via Edition Dur, and remixed Martin Gore's The Third Chimpanzee Remixed and New Order's Be a Rebel Remix.
