Andy Warhol. Pop Icons

Exhibition dedicated to Andy Warhol at the Palau Martorell in Barcelona, with more than 180 works in painting, screen printing, drawing, photography and Polaroid centred on his pop imagery.

The exhibition traces the career of Andy Warhol, the artist who turned everyday objects and famous faces into instantly recognisable images of contemporary art. It brings together more than 180 pieces in a range of techniques, including paintings, screen prints, drawings, photographs and Polaroids, which allow visitors to follow the variety of his creative practice.

Among the works on display are the Campbell's soup cans and portraits of personalities such as Marilyn Monroe, Mick Jagger, Liz Taylor or Michael Jackson. The itinerary also includes record covers and shows how Warhol crossed the boundaries between art, music, fashion and mass culture.

The exhibition is curated by Edoardo Falcioni and Lola Durán Úcar. It offers a journey through the many facets of his creativity, accessible to anyone who wants to get to know the artist through his most recognisable images and to see the different techniques he used in one and the same space.
