Anselm Kiefer

The Sala d'Exposicions presents an exhibition dedicated to the career of the creator Anselm Kiefer, centred on his exploration of history, memory and identity through various visual art disciplines.

The Sala d'Exposicions hosts exhibitions and cultural activities in Barcelona and welcomes this proposal centred on the work of Anselm Kiefer. The tour brings together a collection of pieces that address questions regarding the condition of authorship in the 20th century and the relationship with myths, history and social norms through an iconography with deep Germanic roots.

Visitors will find a collection of display cases, objects and installations in the rooms where diverse materials such as lead, cement, glass, stones or burnt books are combined, conceived as dense and transparent symbols. The visit also includes a selection of paintings dedicated to the figure of the English scholar and poet Robert Fludd. This display is designed for an audience interested in contemporary art and visual thinking, who can freely wander through the spaces to examine the exhibited elements and the reflections raised by the curator on cultural heritage and historical reconciliation.
