Canta Cecília

Canta Cecília is a world music show in which Lídia Pujol performs songs by Cecilia as a tribute marking the fiftieth anniversary of her death. It is staged at Sala Heartbreak Hotel in Barcelona.

It is a tribute to the work of Cecilia, not a performance by the original artist. Lídia Pujol revives her songs in an intimate, stripped-back and deeply committed interpretation, marking the fiftieth anniversary of her death. The proposal honours the memory of a voice that sang what could not be said and what we do not yet know how to put into words.

The show is part of a cycle that brings together Nova Cançó and Cecilia's work as examples of committed music, artistic courage and living memory. Pujol acts as a bridge between the two movements, which turned pain into beauty and censorship into poetry, and the cycle presents the sung word as a path of resistance and freedom.

On stage, Lídia Pujol sings accompanied by the guitar of Pau Figueres. The idea and the voice are Pujol's, who also signs the production, and Laura Rubio is in charge of management and production. The concert takes place at Sala Heartbreak Hotel, which hosts concerts and shows in Barcelona.
