Overview
Ibeyi is a duo formed by the twins Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Diaz, of Franco-Cuban origin, with a proposal that sits between pop, rock and indie and draws on Afro-Cuban roots and Yoruba references. This concert forms part of their stop in Madrid.
Ibeyi are Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Diaz, twin sisters and daughters of the Cuban percussionist Anga Díaz. Their music combines voices and percussion with elements of Afro-Cuban and Yoruba tradition, and sits within pop, rock and indie, the genre listed in this entry. Their debut album, released in 2015, introduced a sound built around their voices and percussion.
On stage, the performance rests on the dialogue between the two voices and rhythms of Afro-Cuban origin, with songs from their studio albums. The concert takes place at Sala But, a Madrid venue that hosts concerts and shows. It is an occasion for anyone seeking a live set centred on the voice and rhythm of this project.
