Overview
Doña Elvira de Vergara, a seventeenth-century woman, wants to fulfil her dream: to go to war and make her name immortal by becoming the finest soldier. How does she do it? She escapes
from home with her maid on the day her aunt plans to send her to a convent. The two of them dress as men and sneak into the army of the Armada Española. Why
not? There, they discover their great talents as fighters and explore personal relationships while living under a male identity. A little-known text from the Golden Age
that explores the ambition of a woman at a time when female aspirations can carry danger. And humour.
