La Odisea. El viaje inmersivo

The Centro de Experiencias Inmersivas MAD (Madrid Artes Digitales) will host, from 18 September 2026, a new immersive experience that transports visitors to ancient Greece in the Mycenaean period, to relive alongside the hero Odysseus the trials and adventures of his long return to Ithaca. On this occasion, MAD adapts one of the great classics of world literature, Homer’s Odyssey, and explores one of the most fascinating civilisations in the history of the West.

Following the international success of earlier productions such as Tutankamón, Los últimos días de Pompeya, La leyenda del Titanic or Cleopatra, MAD’s projects have toured 24 cities on four continents and have surpassed 5 million visitors worldwide.

This exhibition has been created with the whole family in mind and offers a new way of experiencing history and of engaging with Homer’s poem, inviting adults and children to discover the adventures of Odysseus together. From the battlefield before the walls of Troy and the ingenuity of the wooden horse, to the encounter with the Cyclops Polyphemus, the seduction of the Sirens, the descent into Hades, the dreaded passage between Scylla of the six heads and the whirlpool of Charybdis, and the longed-for return to his family in Ithaca.

La Odisea features a spectacular and educational guided tour narrated by the voice of Homer, the author to whom tradition attributes the poem and who acts as narrator throughout the entire experience. Visitors move through staged recreations, 360° immersive projections, a metaverse space, multisensory virtual reality and a holographic installation, entering the Greece of heroes and following Odysseus’s journey.
