St. Paul and The Broken Bones is a Southern soul group from Birmingham (Alabama), formed in 2012, arriving in Madrid with its sixth album, which shares the band’s name, and a blend of soul, funk, psychedelia and gospel.
St. Paul and The Broken Bones formed in 2012 in Birmingham and play Southern soul. Their first album, ‘Half the City’ (2014), marked the start of their career. Fronting the group is vocalist Paul Janeway, whose voice is one of the most recognisable features of the act.
The sixth album, which bears the same name as the band, revives the group’s soul roots and combines them with psychedelic rhythms, funk, gospel ballads and a cinematic style of rock. With this album, the group seeks a new phase of creative renewal without giving up its adventurous streak.
