Overview
There are two great, irreconcilable accounts of female desire: one holds that women are sexually insatiable beasts; the other seeks to convince us that female desire is weak or non-existent. What is delirium and what is truth?
Carlota Gurt sets out to investigate this with a rigorous yet also insolent, personal and playful approach, drawing on all kinds of material, from fragments of classical authors to first-hand experiences, in this unclassifiable lecture-monologue in which everything has a place: Maria Bonaparte and Mahoma, Freud and bicycles, Safo and Dominican inquisitors.
Performance genre: performative lecture/philosophical stand-up. cat, an aid promoted by the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Diputacions of Barcelona, Girona, Lleida and Tarragona. Last updated: 23/10/2026
