About — The artist
Alcalá Norte is a Spanish rock band from Madrid. It was formed in 2019 by three friends from the Ciudad Lineal neighbourhood of Madrid (Jaime Barbosa, Juan Pablo Juliá and Álvaro Rivas).
Following the release of an EP in 2020 and several singles in the years that followed, the band released its first studio album in April 2024. Certified gold, the album was an instant success, and within just over a month it entered the Promusicae Top 100 vinyl chart and the Spotify Viral Top 50. The band was also described as an emerging act and was sought after for the line-ups of several music festivals, including Primavera Sound. They announced their first tour, with more than 40 dates across Spain, self-described as the Gira Cañón.
Within two months, they had drawn the attention of the entire music industry, and articles and interviews appeared in the press across Spain describing them as "the band of the year" and as "the band everyone knows".
