Omasta - Hits Different Italian Tour

Omasta at BIKO

Omasta are embarking on new paths without abandoning those they have already explored. Rooted in jazz and deeply immersed in hip-hop and street culture, the Kraków-based band blends the smoky sound of Detroit and the beats of Los Angeles with instrumental hip-hop and 1970s fusion.

The band's name comes from a regional dialect of Kraków and means "fat added to food to enhance its flavour", a perfect description of their music.

Omasta took shape in Kraków over several years, officially debuting in February 2024 with a tribute to J Dilla at Paul's Boutique in Kraków. Since then, the band has evolved from a local act into one of the most recognisable names on the European jazz scene.

In just two years they have performed more than 100 concerts across Poland and Europe, playing throughout the continent.

They have shared the stage and collaborated with artists such as Aquiles Navarro of Irreversible Entanglements, Tenderlonious, Wildchild, Stacy Epps, Shirley Jones, Bina., Marysia Osu and Leszek Żądło.

Their debut album, "Jazz Report From The Hood", was released in 2025 by Astigmatic Records, establishing Omasta as one of the most original and distinctive acts on the European jazz scene. The next chapter in this journey is Hits Different, the band's second album, due out in October 2026, again on Astigmatic Records.
