A tribute to Miles Davis and Gil Evans through their extraordinary reinterpretation of Porgy and Bess, George Gershwin's opera that tells an American story of love, passion, conflict and everyday life, weaving together jazz, blues, ragtime and gospel.

Davis and Evans transformed this work into an unprecedented sonic universe, full of new colours, atmospheres and expressive freedom, paving the way for new frontiers in modern jazz.

A mare culturale urbano, this project comes to life thanks to a supergroup of six musicians from the Italian jazz scene: Alberto Mandarini on trumpet, Daniele Comoglio on tenor and soprano sax, Serena Ferrara on vocals, Massimo Colombo on piano, Attilio Zanchi on double bass and Tommy Bradascio on drums.

A journey through the visionary power of a musical encounter that continues to inspire generations of musicians.

The concert is part of Il jazz a mare - mare forza dieci, the programme with which mare culturale urbano celebrates its ten years, in collaboration with Cernusco Jazz and JAZZMI.
