The Neo-Gothic Friedrichswerdersche Kirche in Berlin, an extension of the Alte Nationalgalerie, presents 19th-century sculptures, including works by Johann Gottfried Schadow, Emil Wolff and Christian Daniel Rauch.

The Friedrichswerdersche Kirche is a Neo-Gothic building designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel and constructed in the 1820s. Since 1987 the building has served as an extension of the Alte Nationalgalerie. Under the title „Ideal und Form“, more than fifty sculptures of the 19th century are brought together, some of them monumental. These works illustrate the Berlin School of sculpture.

The sculptors represented include Johann Gottfried Schadow, Emil Wolff and Christian Daniel Rauch. Among Schadow's works is the group of the Princesses Luise and Friederike.

The exhibition is aimed at visitors interested in 19th-century sculpture who want an overview of the Berlin School. The visit is centred on viewing the sculptures in the Neo-Gothic church interior.
