“De Madrid al cielo” VI Concurso de fotografía del Museo de Historia de Madrid

The Museo de Historia is hosting an exhibition from 21 October to 28 February 2027 that brings together the images selected for the sixth edition of its annual photography competition. The call for entries is organised in collaboration with the Planetario de Madrid with the aim of documenting the city's visual memory through a constant dialogue between its architecture and its atmosphere.

The exhibited images show the Madrid landscape from viewpoints, rooftops, squares and narrow streets, capturing everyday moments under sunrises, sunsets, storms or clear skies. This year's theme coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Planetario and with the anticipation surrounding the total solar eclipse that will be visible across the peninsula, two reasons that have encouraged participants to look up and photograph the capital from another perspective.

The exhibition thus gathers the perspective of different photographers on the light and atmosphere of Madrid, combining the city's architecture with changing weather and the contrasts of the firmament throughout the day.

The winning photographs of the sixth edition are as follows:

1st prize "El guardián del firmamento" by Antonio Farto Casado

2nd prize "Atardecer en Madrid" by José Luis Morcillo Amo

3rd prize "Cuádrigas en el cielo de Madrid" by Marcelino Díaz Zabala
