Miki Leal. La corriente del confort. De lo cotidiano a lo heroico

Sala Alcalá 31 of the Comunidad de Madrid hosts the exhibition La corriente del confort. De lo cotidiano a lo heroico from 20 November to 10 January 2027, a wide-ranging presentation devoted to the Seville-born artist Miki Leal. The show brings together more than 120 works created over the past two decades, combining painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, furniture design and new productions conceived specifically for the occasion.

The idea for the exhibition stems from a series of small-format works the painter produced in 2025, inspired by his own memories and the pleasures of everyday life. Building on that, Miki Leal blends everyday anecdotes with his great passions: cinema, architecture, literature, music, travel and tennis. With a colourful style and pop touches, the artist transforms these personal experiences into scenes full of humour, nostalgia and fantasy.

The visit is divided into two levels without a rigid chronological sequence: the ground floor houses works from 2017 onwards, begun during his stay in Rome, while the upper floor groups thematic pieces, many of them earlier. Miki Leal also intervenes in the room itself, transforming it into an architecture inspired by Villa Arpel, the setting of the film Mi tío (1958), inviting visitors to view the space as a large three-dimensional drawing.

A fantastic opportunity to discover in depth the career of one of the most solid names in contemporary Spanish art.
