Laura Lio. Sobre/Salto

The cultural space CentroCentro hosts the exhibition Sobre/salto from 13 November to 28 March 2027, a project by visual artist Laura Lio, curated by Nerea Ubieto. The exhibition brings together works produced since 2010 alongside pieces created specifically for this space, carrying out a deep reflection on the links between nature, technology, language and territory.

The visit unfolds between two symbolic poles: nature and technology. Among drawings, seeds, celestial atlases, birds and branches, a large installation stands out in the central space: a moving forest of parachutes, inspired by the famous poem Altazor o el viaje en paracaídas by Vicente Huidobro, on the metaphor of the life journey and its constant uncertainties.

The route continues into a second room, where botanical structures, from the interior of trees to the drawing of leaves, create a parallel with circulatory arteries and the layout of the city. From this, Laura Lio incorporates her platform Hacer la calle. Lo digo con un cartel, unfurling open proclamations of strong poetic and political charge designed to awaken awareness in the street.

The project also incorporates the memory of the building itself, the former Palacio de Telecomunicaciones, as a working element. Through mail art works, postcards and previously unseen posters, Lio examines the history of the site and the forms of communication in our cities.
