Armin Jambor Quartet

The Armin Jambor Quartet is a jazz quartet led by saxophonist and composer Armin Jambor, based in Vienna, with Mátyás Bartha, Miloš Čolović and Oleg Markov. The proposition combines modern jazz with a strong melodic and narrative vocation.

Armin Jambor plays tenor saxophone and writes most of the group's compositions. He is joined by Mátyás Bartha on piano, Miloš Čolović on double bass and Oleg Markov on drums, four musicians highly regarded within Austrian jazz.

Their music rests on lyrical melodies, elaborate compositions and constant interplay between the four players, with highly energetic improvisations. The quartet draws on both the European and the American jazz traditions, and seeks a sound of its own that joins a contemporary aesthetic with respect for the history of the genre.

The group is preparing its debut album, Touch and Fade, in collaboration with G2 and Sony Music. Following its release, it will tour Spain, Germany and Austria to present this new repertoire.
