Clan of Xymox + Psyche

Valencia's Sala Jerusalem hosts a double bill featuring Clan of Xymox and Psyche as part of its programming dedicated to pop, rock and independent music.

Clan of Xymox is a Dutch band founded in the early eighties in Nijmegen by Ronny Moorings, Pieter Nooten and Anke Wolbert. Their sound is rooted in the origins of European gothic rock and dark wave, combining dark electronic atmospheres with melancholic melodies. Among their most representative songs are tracks released on their early albums with the 4AD label, such as Stranger and A Day, which are benchmark works within the dark music current of that decade. Live, the line-up reviews their career with synthesisers and guitars.

Psyche is a Canadian synth-pop and dark wave project created in 1982 by brothers Stephen and Darrin Huss in Edmonton. Their sound is characterised by the use of minimalist synthesizers and an expressive voice, with standout tracks such as Eternal or Inner Heaven and productions influenced by industrial music and European synthetic pop. On stage, the usual repertoire covers the duo's various recording eras. This session in Valencia brings together two historic names in eighties music on the same bill.
