Overview
Discovery Zone is the experimental pop project of JJ Weihl, a New York musician and multimedia artist who combines luminous vocal performances, baroque instrumental flourishes and 3D visual effects.
JJ Weihl's project has gradually gained a following since its debut album, Remote Control. Its second album, Quantum Web, was released through the labels RVNG Intl. and Mansions and Millions, and an expanded version later appeared. The record places the listener in an unsettling valley where the boundaries between the sincere and the ironic blur, and between the human and the posthuman.
In concert, the proposal moves within a panoramic-sounding pop, with luminous vocal performances and instrumental passages with a baroque air. To build the show, the project makes use of an instrument laboratory and 3D visual effects, with which it treats the universe as a source of information.
The gig takes place at LAUT, a venue that hosts concerts and shows in Barcelona. It is a proposal aimed at those looking for experimental pop with a strong visual dimension and a clear conceptual dimension.
