Drácula

The Teatro Rooftop Lírico hosts, from 24 October to 10 January 2027, Friday to Sunday, the first Spanish-language production of the international off-Broadway hit by Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen, following its success in New York and London.

This Spanish production is directed by Sara Pérez, who also signs the adaptation together with Javier Ruescas, in a new co-production by La Coja Producciones and La Charito Escena. With an irreverent spirit, a sexy and camp aesthetic, and a deeply free contemporary outlook, this version promises to become one of the most unexpected and entertaining proposals of the coming Madrid theatre season.

The cast is led by Alexandre Ars, who brings to life the seductive, narcissistic and dangerously irresistible Count Dracula (The Book of Mormon, La Jaula de las Locas, The Producers). Alongside him, José Cobertera (Antonio y Cleopatra, La Edad de la Ira) as Jonathan Harker and others, Paula García Lara (La Función Que Sale Mal, Mefisto For Ever) as Lucy Westfeldt and others, Mercedes Salvadores (The Rythm of The Night, Lo que Callamos a los 30) as Dr Westfeldt and others, and Víctor Nacarino (Mujer en Obras, Amar es para siempre) as Mina, Van Helsing and others, take on the dizzying challenge of playing the remaining characters in this wild comedy, where five performers bring to life more than fifteen creatures, victims and eccentric inhabitants of this completely unleashed universe.

Originally premiered Off-Broadway in 2023 and after its run in London in 2025, this play reinvents Bram Stoker's classic with wild humour. Full of witty wordplay, pop culture references and an absolute celebration of theatrical chaos, it breaks with the conventions of the genre to turn Gothic horror into an experience of laughter, desire and bites.
