Overview
Maria BC at Casa Montjuïc
Born in Ohio and based in Oakland, Maria BC has built one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary ambient folk. Her music, intimate and deeply atmospheric, combines string arrangements, delicate guitars and a classically trained voice that moves between the fragile and the spectral.
Following the acclaimed 'Hyaline' and 'Spike Field' — her debut on Sacred Bones — Maria BC returns in 2026 with 'Marathon', a new work marked by endurance, wear and persistence. Her sonic world has also found an echo in film, contributing to the acclaimed soundtrack of 'I Saw the TV Glow' with the track Taper, alongside artists such as Caroline Polachek, yeule and Florist.
In collaboration with Oval.
