Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia: Michel Camilo Trio

Pianist Michel Camilo presents his musical proposal in a trio formation on the stage of the Palacio de las Artes Reina Sofía in Valencia.

Michel Camilo is a renowned jazz pianist and composer originally from the Dominican Republic, whose musical career combines contemporary jazz with afro-Caribbean roots and rhythms and the classical tradition. With a solid discography published over decades of artistic activity, his work includes collaborations with prominent musicians and ensembles from the international scene, alongside accolades such as Grammy and Latin Grammy awards for his recordings. On this occasion, he performs in a trio format, a regular formation in his career that allows him to musically converse with the double bass and drums to perform a repertoire centred on his original compositions and reinterpretations of well-known tracks.

The concert takes place at the Palacio de las Artes Reina Sofía, a cultural space located in Valencia that regularly hosts a diverse programme of concerts, recitals and performances from different artistic disciplines. This musical proposal is aimed both at regular followers of instrumental jazz and at those wishing to hear live the virtuosity and interpretative energy characteristic of the pianist and his group.
