Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia: Zambomba Flamenco

El Palacio de las Artes Reina Sofía hosts a Zambomba Flamenca, a traditional show rooted in Andalusian culture that celebrates the Christmas season with singing, guitar playing and rhythm.

La Zambomba Flamenca is a cultural expression originating from Jerez de la Frontera and Cádiz that brings together traditional Christmas carols performed under the canons of flamenco, accompanied by instruments such as the zambomba, guitar, handclaps and tambourine. This theatrical format transfers the atmosphere of tenement courtyards where the community would gather to share popular verses and traditional rhythms around these dates to the stages.

El Palacio de las Artes Reina Sofía, located in Valencia, opens its stage for this programme dedicated to the roots of southern peninsular folklore. This proposal is aimed at audiences interested in roots music and traditional expressions of the peninsula, offering a direct approach to festive flamenco styles such as bulerías and flamencised Christmas carols.
