Mozart's Requiem at Teatro de la Maestranza

The Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville hosts the performance of Mozart's celebrated Requiem, one of the pinnacles of sacred music.

Requiem in D minor, K. 626 is the final composition by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Written in Vienna in 1791, it remained unfinished due to the author's death, being subsequently completed by his pupil Franz Xaver Süssmayr upon the commission of Count Franz von Walsegg. This masterpiece of the Classical period stands out for its dramatic intensity, the use of contrapuntistic writing and the expressive depth of movements such as the Lacrimosa or the Dies Irae, becoming a fundamental reference in the symphonic-choral repertoire.
