Vincen García

The Valencian bassist Vincen García presents his album VIVACE at Sala Villanos as part of the JAZZMADRID festival and the Villanos del Jazz cycle.

Vincen García has established himself on the instrumental funk jazz scene through a solo career that includes the albums Ventura and VIVACE. His musical approach moves between jazz funk, jazz fusion, R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae, and he is noted for his use of the slap technique and a sound defined by the combination of virtuosity and groove.

Before focusing on his solo career, the bassist built up more than ten years of experience with bands such as Funkiwis and collaborated with acts such as Mafalda, Doctor Pitangú, Blue Caravan and Mediterranean Roots. His influences include musicians such as Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller and Flea, and his international profile grew after he joined Cory Wong's band for the European autumn tour of 2023. Sala Villanos hosts this live performance as part of the capital's music programme.
