Edinburgh Quartet

"*Perky and pristine in the Haydn, gutsy and attitudinal in the folk-inspired Prokofiev, movingly sustained in the grim delights of the Shostakovich… richly considered, rigorously balanced and, ultimately, a musical treat*." - The Scotsman

Haydn's wit, Rebecca Clarke's haunting Poem and Puccini's elegiac Crisantemi make a beguiling first half, before Scotland's longest-established quartet tackles Schubert's epic G major Quartet — fifty minutes of restless, visionary genius. A programme that balances miniature gems with one of the chamber repertoire's true summits.
