Heather Nova

Heather Nova (born Heather Allison Frith on July 6, 1967) is a Bermudian singer-songwriter. Born in Bermuda to a Canadian mother and a Bermudian father, she spent most of her childhood aboard a sailboat, sailing across the Atlantic. As a teenager she moved to the United States, where she studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and earned a film degree in 1989.

In 1990, after a stint in New York, she moved to London and began writing and performing music, releasing her debut EP that year on the independent British label Big Cat Records. After the studio albums Glow Stars (1993) and Oyster (1994), she achieved mainstream recognition with her third record, Siren (1998), which entered the Billboard 200 after two of its tracks featured in the popular American television series Felicity and Dawson's Creek.

Nova continued with the albums South (2001), Storm (2003) and Redbird (2005). In 2006, she released The Sorrowjoy, an album of poetry. Her subsequent albums include The Jasmine Flower (2008), 300 Days at Sea (2011), The Way It Feels (2015) and Pearl (2019).
