Overview
AMAPIANOLAND is a music session devoted to amapiano, a genre that emerged in South Africa in the mid-2010s and is built on log drums and deep basslines. It is staged as part of the Detty December Festival at Boxpark Wembley, a concert venue on Olympic Way in Wembley, north-west London.
The outing centres on dancing to amapiano, so it suits groups of friends and visitors who want a music-led outing in London during the festival's December programme. The genre draws on South African house, and its signature log drum gives the rhythm its character. Visitors passing through London in December can find it a straightforward way to join the festival's music programme.
