Overview
A Burns Night ceilidh at Big Penny Social in London, a session of Scottish social dancing held to mark Burns Night, the celebration of the poet Robert Burns.
This outing is a Burns Night ceilidh, a session of Scottish social dancing in which the group joins in dances together. It marks Burns Night, the annual celebration of the Scottish poet Robert Burns, and is held on a Wednesday at Big Penny Social, a venue in East London.
Because the dances are shared rather than watched, the outing suits groups of friends, couples and visitors passing through London who want to take part in a traditional Scottish occasion. It is an active format, so it appeals most to those who enjoy dancing and being part of the room. Participants should expect to move for most of the session, as the dances are performed in groups rather than from seats.
