Elvana: Elvis Fronted Nirvana

A concert by Elvana, an act built on the idea in its title: Elvis Presley fronting Nirvana. It takes place at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange.

Elvana takes its premise from the title, which imagines Elvis Presley as the frontman of Nirvana. Nirvana was the American rock band formed in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1987 by Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic. Dave Grohl joined on drums in 1990, and the band's best-known record, Nevermind (1991), includes Smells Like Teen Spirit. Nirvana ended with Cobain's death in 1994.

Elvis Presley, the American singer who rose to fame in the 1950s and became known as the King of Rock and Roll, is the other half of the concept. Elvana is not Nirvana or Elvis Presley themselves; it is a project that brings the two together under one name.

The Edinburgh Corn Exchange hosts concerts and shows in Edinburgh. The night will appeal to those who know the catalogues of both Nirvana and Elvis Presley.
