PLAYGROUND is an electronic night presented by FERAL. Electronic music is built on synthesisers, drum machines and sequencers, and its tracks are usually produced with computers and studio equipment rather than by a conventional band playing acoustic instruments. Producers often work alone or in small groups, building each track from programmed patterns and layered sounds.

The evening takes place at Coven Headquarters, a London venue that hosts concerts, and the night belongs to the electronic music tradition.

Among the genre's best-known branches are house and techno, which emerged in Chicago and Detroit in the 1980s. Both grew from the drum machine and sequencer techniques that electronic music still relies on today.
