Overview
LUMINISCENCE is an immersive production staged inside Westminster Cathedral, combining 360-degree video projections with live music and storytelling. Its narrative traces the history of London and of the cathedral, and the narration is voiced by the actor Hugh Bonneville, from a script specially written for the production by Tim Whitnall.
Visitors see video-mapping across the cathedral's interior. The mosaic domes, which were never completed, are digitally brought to life for the first time as the architect originally intended. The soundtrack is performed live by the Lux Aeterna choir and a 14-piece orchestra, and a festive edition adds Christmas classics and a seasonal projection to the programme.
The production first appeared in Manchester before its London run, and is offered in more than one musical version. It suits those interested in music, architecture and the history of the capital, and it can be followed on this visit to London for as long as the run continues.
