Opal Sunn Live (aka Alex Kassian & Hiroaki OBA)

A live audiovisual electronic performance by Alex Kassian and Hiroaki Oba under the name Opal Sunn Live, presented at LDN East in East London. The duo's studio productions form the starting point for the evening.

Opal Sunn Live is the live audiovisual project of Alex Kassian and Hiroaki Oba, who present their electronic music as a duo. The set builds on the studio productions the pair make under the Opal Sunn name, with percussion driving travelling acid basslines beneath chords, delays and textures.

On stage, the music moves beyond those studio productions into improvisation, so the material heads into less charted territory from one performance to the next. The evening takes place at LDN East, a concert and performance venue at Bidder Street in East London, and the project is staging its show in an East London space it has not used before.

The night is aimed at DJ and electronic music fans who are interested in how studio-based electronic material changes when it is reworked live and improvised in front of an audience.
