Overview
A planetarium presentation of Primal Scream's 1991 album Screamadelica, marking its 35th anniversary, staged at We The Curious in Bristol.
Primal Scream are a rock band formed in Glasgow in 1982 by Bobby Gillespie, who sings with the group. Their 1991 album Screamadelica, released on Creation Records, blends guitar-based rock with acid house, dub and psychedelia. Its best-known tracks include Loaded, Movin'On Up and a version of The Beatles'Come Together.
This event marks thirty-five years since the album's release, presenting the record in the planetarium setting rather than on a conventional concert stage. Screamadelica remains the work most often cited when the band's early career is discussed, and its mix of styles explains why it has held a lasting place in British music.
The planetarium belongs to We The Curious, a science centre in Bristol that hosts concerts and shows alongside its exhibits. The venue's summary describes it as a place for concerts and shows, which is the context for this presentation.
