Winter Rides In Richmond Park

A seasonal horse-drawn carriage ride through Richmond Park, pulled by the park's Shire horses, with refreshments and a visit to the working stables included. It runs during the winter festive period.

Passengers travel around Richmond Park in a traditional carriage, a Park Brake seating six people, drawn by Shire horses. The outing begins at Holly Lodge, where refreshments are served before boarding. The ride itself lasts about an hour, within an experience of roughly 75 minutes, and takes in the park's winter landscape and its wildlife, which can be watched at close range from the carriage.

The package also includes a behind-the-scenes tour of the working stables, where the horses are kept. Because the carriage is a traditional vehicle, it cannot accommodate wheelchair users. Proceeds from the rides support conservation projects carried out with the Shire horses of The Royal Parks.

The seats are sold as a single exclusive carriage, so the outing suits a small group of up to six people travelling together, or a family wanting a slower way of seeing the park in winter. The meeting point is Holly Lodge within Richmond Park.
