Afro Tribe JBows birthday is an electronic music night at Basing House, a concert and performance venue at 25 Kingsland Road in Shoreditch, east London. Electronic music grew out of studio experiments and dance-floor production in the twentieth century, and it draws on synthesised and programmed sounds, with beats and textures produced by drum machines, samplers and computers.

The title pairs the name Afro Tribe with JBows and a birthday celebration, so the evening is framed around those names and the occasion itself. Basing House hosts concerts and performances, and this night brings electronic music to that programme.

Electronic music is often performed by DJs and producers, whose sets are built from recorded and live material.
