All Damned Heat + Jackie Marchal

Jackie Marchal at The Ivy House

It's the final New Lands of the year! Join us at The Ivy House for a night of new music and beers.

All damned heat is the new project from Lauren McCarthy (guitarist for Starter Car and Lifepath99). The four-piece band crafts brief but tightly wound rock tunes with a big focus on strong melodies underpinned by dense harmony.

Jackie Marchal is a New York City-born, South East London-based singer-songwriter whose rich timbre draws on a lineage running from Nina Simone to Lana Del Rey. Marchal recorded and produced her latest EP, The Girl the World Forgot, in her bedroom, with Weyes Blood's orchestral instincts and Julia Jacklin's cutting delivery as sonic touchstones. Released by Brooklyn's Better Company Records, the project's lead single, "Excavate the Girl," was a finalist in NPR's 2026 Tiny Desk Contest, and recognized as one of the year's best folk and rock entries. She is currently studying for an MFA in Music at Goldsmiths.
