Arab Strap

Arab Strap is a Scottish indie rock duo, presented here in a London concert at Heaven, with Sin Clair also on the bill. The listing covers the band's concerts in the capital.

Arab Strap is a Scottish band formed in Falkirk in the mid-1990s around vocalist Aidan Moffat and guitarist Malcolm Middleton. Their early albums, including The Week Never Starts Round Here (1996) and Philophobia (1998), were released on the Glasgow label Chemikal Underground, and their spoken-sung delivery over sparse, guitar-led arrangements set them apart from many of their contemporaries. After a break in the mid-2000s, the group returned to recording with The Red Thread in 2016, and their later work has continued the same blend of confessional lyrics and understated rock.

In concert, the band performs as a duo on the core of their catalogue, with Moffat's vocals and Middleton's guitar at the centre of the sound. Sin Clair is also on the bill for this London date.

Heaven is listed on this page as a London venue for concerts and shows. The evening will suit listeners already familiar with the band's records, as well as those who want to hear their material performed live.
