BIG BIG TRAIN - The Woodcut & Other Stories Tour

Big Big Train, the British progressive rock band, bring their The Woodcut & Other Stories Tour to the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire in London. The show presents material from the band's recent album The Woodcut.

Big Big Train are a British progressive rock band formed in Bournemouth in 1990. Their first album, Goodbye to the Age of Steam, was released in 1994, and the group has since built a long catalogue of albums with extended, story-driven compositions. Their work draws on English pastoral and folk-influenced traditions, with a strong sense of place and history running through their lyrics and arrangements.

This concert is part of The Woodcut & Other Stories Tour, which takes its name from The Woodcut, one of the band's recent records, alongside older material from their back catalogue. The band performs as a live group, and the evening is built around the longer pieces that are characteristic of their studio work.

The night will suit listeners already familiar with progressive rock and with the band's albums, though the set is presented for a general audience of rock and indie fans. The O2 Shepherds Bush Empire is a London venue that hosts concerts and shows throughout the year.
