Boris

Boris, the Japanese experimental band, play Electric Brixton in London, with American project Planning for Burial in support. The concert is listed under Concerts.

Boris are a Japanese experimental music band formed in 1992 in Tokyo. Their music blends sludge metal, drone doom and noise rock, and their debut album, Absolutego, came out in 1996 on Southern Lord Records. Their sound moves between slow, heavy riffs and passages of noise and drone, which makes their records and stage work distinct from conventional metal.

Planning for Burial is an American music project led by Thom Wasluck and associated with shoegaze. Wasluck released a first album, Leaving, in 2009. The project's textures, with layered guitars and washes of sound, are a clear contrast to the heavier, more abrasive approach of the headline act.

Electric Brixton hosts concerts and shows in London, and this bill suits listeners who follow heavy, experimental rock and its neighbouring styles.
