Carrier + Emily Jeanne

An electronic double bill at No90 in Hackney Wick, pairing the project Carrier with the DJ and producer Emily Jeanne, both working across rhythm-led and experimental sounds.

Carrier is an electronic project whose debut full-length, Rhythm Immortal, moves between hypnagogic drift and sharply syncopated rhythm, with fractured beats set against weightless ambience. Its recordings rely on implied rhythm and degraded textures, with a heavy low end beneath a lighter surface. On stage, the act works with resampling, physical modelling and found sound, reshaping its material in real time according to the space it is played in.

Emily Jeanne's DJing and production sit between styles, combining broken rhythms with more direct dancefloor energy and drawing on IDM, ambient, dub and bass-based music. Rather than tying the work to one scene, the artist runs a personal label, quỳnh, which serves as a home for the most exploratory and personal material.

The night will appeal to listeners interested in electronic music that moves between experimental and club-oriented approaches. No90 in Hackney Wick hosts concerts and shows, and this evening brings the two acts together in its programme.
