Chameleons

The Chameleons, a British post-punk band from Middleton, Greater Manchester, play KOKO in London. The concert brings the group's guitar-led music to a London stage.

The Chameleons formed in Middleton, Greater Manchester, around Mark Burgess, Reg Smithies, Dave Fielding and John Lever. The band released three albums before splitting up in 1987, and reformed in 2000, returning to the stage after more than a decade apart.

Their music sits within post-punk, with atmospheric guitars and Mark Burgess's vocals at its centre. The group's catalogue from their original run of three albums forms the foundation of their identity, and their reformation extended that body of work into later years.

KOKO is a venue in London that hosts concerts and shows, and this evening suits listeners who follow the band's post-punk and indie lineage. The night is aimed at audiences interested in the group's original recordings and the enduring sound of British post-punk.
