Overview
Deep Forest, the French electronic music group, is performing at Colours Hoxton in London. The project blends electronic music with ethnotronica and world music.
Deep Forest is a French music group founded in 1992. Its sound combines electronic music, ethnotronica and world music, drawing on traditional vocal and instrumental material from different parts of the world and setting it over electronic rhythms. The group was signed to 550 Music, and its self-titled first album was released the same year it was founded.
The group is best understood as a studio-based project that brings electronic production and world music influences together, so a live performance centres on the textures and rhythms of its recordings. The usual line-up and the repertoire played on this visit are not confirmed here, so the programme should be checked against the event details.
Colours Hoxton is a London venue that hosts concerts and shows. This evening suits listeners interested in electronic music with world music roots, and those who know the group's early records.
