Overview
Friday Night Comedy is a stand-up and comedy show, presented under its own title at Alexander's Live. The evening centres on live comic performance, so the humour comes from spoken material delivered on stage rather than from a scripted play, an opera or a dance piece. In this format, the timing and delivery of each performer shape the evening more than any staging or set design.
Alexander's Live is a venue in Chester for music and live performance, and it is the setting for this comedy night. Its programme combines live music with other forms of stage entertainment, which places the show within the city's live entertainment scene.
The show suits anyone looking for an evening of spoken comedy in Chester, whether or not they have seen stand-up before. It offers a lighter night out for those who prefer comedy to theatre or dance.
